Why choose resin over tarmac or concrete?
Tarmac and concrete surfaces are very brittle, an over time weakens with use and will eventually crack and crumble. A resin surface is strong and is built to last. Tarmac also fades from black to grey and begin to look dated and weathered over time.
How long does it take to install a resin driveway?
Not long at all, most installations where preparation is involved take a couple of days to install, many existing tarmac and concrete drives can be done in the same day.
How long before we can use the drive?
Your new surface should be left for 6 hours before being walked on and 24 hours before driving on.
Because resin can hold water, won’t it crack when the water freezes?
No, the resin bound is tested to temperatures down to -50C and is BBA certified – meaning it can be used on public walkways and highways. The nature of this product doesn’t allow water to penetrate the stone because it’s coated in resin.
What’s the difference between resin bonded and resin bound surfaces?
Resin bound is an eco-friendly, highly porous paving solution for ground surfacing. It is a choice of decorative aggregates mixed with specialist resins then hand trowelled to give a flat smooth surface suitable for driveways, paths and patios.
Resin bond is laid in a different manner to resin bound materials. It involves applying a layer of resin to the existing surface, which aggregates are then scattered in to the top of. This gives a non-porous surface, which has a coarser finish and leaves a certain amount of loose stone on the final surface.
How long will a resin drive last?
Resin technology suggests your driveway should last in excess of 25 years.
What groundworks and base preparation do we need to undertake?
The groundwork and preparation laid before you have resin bound installed is very important. If you are planning to have a new sub-base, for the best results, please contact us for guidance.

How do we clean the resin driveway?
Pressure washing is the best way of cleaning your drive, but don’t worry; in your hand over folder which we give to you on completion of your drive installation contains cleaning and after care instruction
Will the Resin fade in the sunlight?
No. We use a special clear UV Resin to bind the aggregate together and this prevents any discolouration or fading from sunlight.
